6 tbsp butter
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
6 tbsp flour
3 cups of milk
2 cups of cream
3-4 cups of elbow macaroni
3 cups of cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup of mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup of breadcrumbs
salt, pepper, nutmeg, mustard to taste
Preheat oven to 400
Set a large pot of salted water on high heat
Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat
Add onions and garlic, cook until translucent Stir in flour to make a roux
Slowly add milk and cream Stir in salt, pepper, nutmeg, and mustard
Cook until mixture thickens, 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally
While sauce is thickening add pasta to boiling water Cook until al dente Drain pasta and return to pot
